Beginner tips: your first session & stance

Beginner standing on an eFoil during the first session
First successful session — light wind, smooth water, low power.
Open tips
  • Start low power. 1–2 bars on remote, steady trigger.
  • Soft knees, eyes on horizon. Don’t stare at the nose.
  • Weight centered. Hips above the mast line; micro-shifts, not jumps.
  • Progression. Kneel → half-stand → full stand; keep speed modest until stable.

Inclusive & tandem: riding together

Tandem eFoil ride: instructor and child gliding above water
Tandem rides: short sets, smooth water, lots of smiles.
Open technique & safety
  • Setup. Low-power mode; heavier rider forward, lighter rider behind.
  • Signals & spacing. Agree on hand signs; keep extra distance to others.
  • Trim. Micro-weight shifts; if lift surges, ease trigger and flatten the board.
  • Kids. Keep sessions short; celebrate tiny wins.

Maintenance: battery contacts & gasket care

Applying silicone grease near battery connector gasket
Rinse, dry, clean contacts, grease gasket lightly.
Open checklist
  1. Rinse gear with fresh water; avoid pressure jets on seals.
  2. Dry connectors; check for debris or salt film.
  3. Clean battery contacts (non-abrasive).
  4. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the battery gasket; wipe excess.
  5. Store cool & dry; mid-state charge for longer storage.

Wing choice & stability at speed

Close-up of a foil wing used for cruising
Cruising wings: very stable below ~30 km/h, more sensitive above.
Open rider note

Below ~30 km/h the ride feels very stable; above 30 the board becomes more sensitive to roll. A spacer can change this behavior; max speed on a Cruising wing around 39 km/h (flat water, experienced rider).
